The better the school library, the higher the reading scores.

Stephen D. Krashen
About This Quote

The better the school library, the higher the reading scores. The problem with this quote is that it doesn't explain the connection between the library and the reading scores. The source of this claim is a study that reported that students in public schools who had access to larger libraries tended to have higher reading scores than those who did not. But, no one seems to know if this correlation is causal or not: whether having access to a large school library influences students' reading scores or whether people who read more also tend to go to better schools and so on.
